Referring Attorneys

Information for attorneys interested in referring matters over to our office or for attorneys wishing to discuss a case or matter with us;

Our practice has been in the greater Boston area (Quincy, Massachusetts) for over 20 years. We concentrate on criminal litigation, including Drunk Driving, White Collar Crime, Homicides, Motor Vehicle Offenses, Sexual Offenses, Restraining Orders, Drug and Alcohol Offenses and related litigation. We are an AV rated firm with a long history of handling cases in and around Norfolk, Bristol, Plymouth, Essex and Suffolk Counties. We practice in the Superior, District and Federal Courts. A high percentage of our cases come from attorneys referring clients to our office. Over the years, we have assembled a strong network of referring attorneys. They have become accustomed to sending us their clients to handle the specific criminal cases which have arisen. The first rule we follow is that these clients remain the clients of the referring attorney. Any non criminal issues that arise are sent back to the referring attorney. We often meet with clients at the referring attorney’s office and often along with the referring attorney. We have sought to become a way for attorneys to better serve their clients by having a criminal law firm at the ready for referral or for advice.

Many criminal cases that arise can trigger ramifications outside of the specific case that may involve professional licenses and other non-criminal issues. We also concentrate on representing clients at the Registry of Motor Vehicles, Sex Offender Registry Board, and at Parole and Probation Hearings.

“Out of town” attorneys often refer matters to us because of our reputation for knowing the local courts and our history of involvement in the local bar and legal community. We frequently represent college students from outside of the area, whose parents feel the need to have their children represented for a variety of reasons.

Please feel free to call us at 617-328-6900 to discuss any questions regarding referrals or questions of criminal law. I would suggest that you check out our website at www.sullivanandsweeney.com to get more information on our attorneys and our practice. Fees will be paid in accordance with Rule 3:07(Rule 1.5) of the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court Rules.

We hope that if a criminal matter, question or concern does arise that you may not feel comfortable handling or you feel the need to consult on, that you would consider calling us.
